Your UMPSA Negotiating Team and the UMaine System have come to a Tentative Agreement on a new three-year contract.
We successfully brought the UMaine System back to the bargaining table, we presented a package of proposals: some originally proposed with modifications and some brand new proposals, and we got them to agree to some wins we think you’ll like.
Dues-paying UMPSA union members: Keep an eye on your email.
You’ll get a message inviting you to a Contract Informational Zoom Session, Tuesday, October 29.
That message will include a link to the interactive Zoom as well as a summary of what we’ve tentatively agreed to. During the Zoom, you’ll get a more detailed explanation of the contract changes that were negotiated on your behalf and have the opportunity to ask questions. Please review the contract summary in your message and bring your questions to the October 29 Zoom meeting.
Next: After the Zoom, dues-paying union members will receive a message that includes a ballot for you to vote to ratify the new contract. The ballot message will also include a summary of the new contract (an overview of what was reviewed in more detail in the Informational Zoom).
Members will have until Wednesday, Nov. 6 to vote. We encourage you, however, to vote sooner.
We hope you’ll join us in this Informational Zoom session.
Note: The Informational Zoom session and opportunity to vote to ratify the contract are available only to our dues-paying UMPSA union members. It’s one of the benefits of being a union member.
